You have to wonder if he knows exactly what he is doing and is playing the political equivalent of a wrestling heel: a foil for the hero, provoking them to give a crowd-pleasing reaction that results in their eventual victory.
Having retreated from the Telegraph and Spectator to the last remaining dugout for wet liberal Conservatives (The Times), Nelson remains dedicated to denying that Britain is suffering any downsides from immigration and multiculturalism.
